Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond on Sunday announced that Dangiriguda Hill of Umerkote in Nabarangpur district is set to undergo a significant transformation, aiming to emerge as a key tourist attraction in the region.
Taking to social media platform X, Minister Gond said that the long-neglected hill will soon be revitalised with the development of green gardens, tourist amenities, and entertainment facilities.
“The time is nearing to realize the dream of turning Dangiriguda into a vibrant tourist destination. Construction work is progressing rapidly,” he stated.
The minister, who visited the site earlier in the day to review the ongoing work, noted that the visual appeal of the hill is already improving.
“The outline of the hill is becoming more beautiful with each passing day. The development of a smart park, small pavilions, coffee houses, and other attractions will not only boost local tourism but also generate employment opportunities for residents,” he added.
The project is expected to play a pivotal role in the socio-economic development of Umerkote and provide visitors with a refreshing recreational experience.
