Bhubaneswar: A drunken man allegedly hacked his wife to death following a heated argument at Asankuda village under Thakurmunda village in Mayurbhanj district on Friday night.
According to reports, an argument ensued between the couple, identified as Subadhi Dehuri and his wife Turi Dehuri over domestic issues. However, the argument turned tense, and in a fit of rage, Subadhi allegedly attacked Turi with an axe, resulting in her death.
Upon being informed, Thakurmunda police detained Subadhi and took him into custody for interrogation.
Meanwhile, police have also seized the alleged murder weapon and sent Turi’s body for autopsy to a nearby hospital.
A forensic team from Baripada has been called in to conduct further investigation and gather evidence. Meanwhile, police are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
