Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is set to conduct a statewide polio immunization drive on Sunday, October 12.
The campaign will cover 19 districts, including Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak, Boudh, Cuttack, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Khordha, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh, as well as all municipal corporation areas.
During the drive, polio drops will be administered to every child under the age of 5. The ultimate goal is to eradicate polio from the country.
The health department issued a notification urging parents to take their children to the nearest health centre for vaccination.
“Parents are advised to contact local Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) or Anganwadi Worker for further details about the immunization programme.
