Bhubaneswar: After the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress declared their candidates for the Nuapada By-poll, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has called three potential candidates to the state headquarters for a crucial meeting with party supremo Naveen Patnaik.
The meeting, scheduled for today afternoon, is expected to play a key role in finalizing the party’s candidate for the by-poll.
According to reports, three aspirants, Abani Joshi, Manoj Mishra, and Bhanu Pratap Singh Majhi, have been called to the state headquarters for a crucial meeting with party supremo Naveen Patnaik.
Abani Joshi, a long-time BJD leader, has been instrumental in strengthening the party’s organization in the district. He has been a two-term Zilla Parishad member. Now he is serving as the district BJD president. His experience and dedication to the party make him a strong contender for the ticket.
Manoj Mishra, a former Block chairman, has a strong track record of working for the party. He has also served as the district president and has been instrumental in ensuring the party’s victory in the Komna block. His name is being considered as a potential candidate, and his chances look promising.
Bhanu Pratap Singh Majhi, a three-term Zilla Parishad member and two-term deputy chairman, is also in the running. He is also the president of the Tribal Welfare Forum, which could be a significant factor in the party’s decision-making process, given the high percentage of tribal voters in the constituency.
The BJD is likely to announce its candidate soon, and the outcome of the meeting will be keenly watched by political observers and party workers alike.
