Bhubaneswar: The second-level randomisation and pairing of EVM and VVPAT machines for the 71-Nuapada Assembly Constituency by-election was conducted today in the presence of Election Observer Prakash Bindu and District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate Madhusudan Dash. The exercise was carried out under the supervision of Sub-Collector and Returning Officer Surmi Soren.
For election preparedness, all voting machines are securely stored in the strong room of National College, Nuapada, under tight security. In a move to ensure transparency, District E-Governance Officer Virendra Singh Dandasena conducted three rounds of computerised randomisation of EVMs and VVPATs in the presence of all contesting candidates and their representatives. The machines will be commissioned ahead of polling.
All 358 polling booths in the constituency will receive their designated voting machines in a completely fair and transparent manner. The second-level randomisation and pairing exercise was further witnessed by Additional District Magistrates Subash Chandra Rait and Prafulla Kujur, along with Sub-Collector and Returning Officer Surmi Soren.
An identical copy of the randomisation report has been handed over to all contesting candidates to ensure full transparency and accountability.
