Bhubaneswar: The Subhadra Shakti Mela, held at the IDCO Exhibition Ground, has been a grand success, attracting thousands of visitors from across the state. The seven-day event showcased the rich cultural heritage of Odisha and provided a platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their products.
The event has recorded a total sale of Rs 4 crore so far, showcasing its success as a vibrant platform for women entrepreneurs in Odisha.
The Mela featured over 300 stalls, showcasing a wide range of products, including handicrafts, handlooms, organic products, and home-made delicacies.
The Food Court has emerged as a major attraction at the fair, showcasing traditional Odia cuisine prepared by women from various parts of the state. Over 50 stalls feature homemade delicacies, offering visitors a taste of authentic Odia flavours, from Pitha to snacks. Even youth are seen enjoying these traditional treats.
Every district in Odisha has its own unique traditions and culinary identity. One popular dish that has captured the hearts of visitors is Mayurbhanj’s ‘Mudhi Mansa’, prepared by the Mayura Mudhi Producers Group in Rasagobindapur block. Alongside this, Keonjhar’s Patrapoda, Sambalpur’s Sarasatia, Nimapara’s Chhena Jhili, Mandia Pitha, and Millet Noodles are winning over people’s hearts, showcasing the popularity of SHG-led food enterprises.
The event’s cultural program, featuring a vibrant dance performance and music, enthralled the audience. The Mela has been a huge success, with a total sale of ₹4 crores recorded on the seventh evening alone.
The Subhadra Shakti Mela’s seventh evening featured a captivating cultural programme with Bagha Nacha performance and musical rendition by Barnali Hota, enchanting the audience.
