Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved amendments to the Odisha Survey and Settlement Rules, aiming to ease the process of obtaining land titles for buyers.
The move is expected to benefit numerous individuals who have purchased land before the Settlement Operation but are yet to receive the Record of Rights (RoR) in their name.
Previously, buyers had to appeal to the Board of Revenue or other authorized Revision Courts, leading to prolonged delays due to heavy workloads. With the amended rules, Tehsildars are now empowered to record land titles in the buyer’s name, eliminating the need for lengthy appeals.
Buyers can now approach the concerned Tehsildar to obtain the title deed of their legally purchased land, making the process more efficient and hassle-free.
