As we know Mahaprasad is considered sacred and is an integral part of the temple’s tradition. It is believed that even a glimpse of Mahaprasad can bring salvation, and eating it with devotion can lead to spiritual liberation. The tradition is to eat Mahaprasad while sitting on the ground, without shoes.
The video, reportedly taken on Tuesday evening, shows the woman eating Mahaprasad while standing with her shoes on. The person recording the video is seen pointing out the incident, prompting the woman to quickly leave the area. The inaction of fellow devotees present there and the Mahaprasad distributor has been criticized, further fuelling the outrage.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage among devotees, who are questioning the lack of respect shown to Mahaprasad, the sacred offering.
