Half-Burnt Body Found In Puri’s Konark, Foul Play Suspected

Bhubaneswar: Tension ran high at Konark after the half-burnt body of an unidentified youth was recovered from a field near Balidokan area under Konark police limits in Puri district.

According to reports, the body was found lying in the last corner of Raitsahi village, near Balidokan market. After the news spread, residents gathered at the scene and informed the Konark police. Upon being informed, Konark police reached the spot and seized the body.

According to a preliminary investigation, it is suspected to be a case of murder. Police believe that the body might have been burnt after the murder.

A forensic team from Puri is expected to arrive at the scene for investigation. After the investigation, the body will be sent to Puri District Headquarters Hospital for an autopsy.

Police launched an investigation to establish the youth’s identity and determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
