Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Legislative Assembly’s winter session commenced today, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi moving a condolence motion to pay tribute to the deceased members.
The motion was supported by Opposition Leader Naveen Patnaik, Congress Legislature Party leader, and CPI(M) MLA Laxman Munda. Following the condolence motion, the Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly adjourned the House till 4:30 pm.
President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to address the House at 4:30 pm. All members have been requested to be present in the House by 3:45 pm and take their respective seats.
It is pertinent to mention that the winter session, which began today, will continue till December 31, with 29 working days. On the second day of the session (November 28), Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will present the first supplementary budget for the financial year 2025-26. Discussions on additional demands for grants from various departments will start from December 4.
