Bhubaneswar: Odisha Legislative Assembly’s Winter Session is set to begin today, with the supplementary budget for 2025-26 expected to be tabled in the House. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is likely to present the budget, estimated to be around Rs 10,000 crore, in the afternoon.
The session will also feature question hours for various departments, including School and Mass Education, Higher Education, Scheduled Castes and Tribes, Sports and Youth Affairs, IT, Odia language, literature, and culture, as well as social security.
Besides, MLAs will have the opportunity to ask listed and unlisted questions. Both the ruling and opposition parties are expected to raise important issues during the zero hour. The Congress party is likely to move an adjournment motion, making the proceedings lively.
