Bhubaneswar: A case has been registered against former MP and senior BJD leader Pradeep Majhi for allegedly threatening the District Welfare Officer (DWO) in Nabarangpur. The complaint was filed by the DWO, and Majhi has been charged under BNS sections 126 (2), 221, and 351 (3).
The incident is linked to a pressure cooker explosion at a government school in K Semla, Kosagumuda block, where a 12-year-old student, Dhaneswar Behera, sustained grievous burn injuries. The school authorities allegedly suppressed the incident and failed to provide medical aid or inform authorities.
Majhi is accused of threatening to shoot the DWO and abusing him in front of the District Collector. He accused the district officials of sitting silent over a sensitive matter. A video of the threat has gone viral on social media.
