Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway is observing Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 across its jurisdiction through cleanliness drives, awareness programmes and passenger outreach initiatives. The activities focus on maintaining cleanliness at railway premises, promoting environmental sustainability, ensuring proper waste management and encouraging active participation of railway employees and the public.
The cleanliness drive included mechanised cleaning of office premises, clearance of trackside and legacy waste, and disposal of e-waste and old files. Quiz competitions and drawing and painting competitions for children were also organised to promote cleanliness and environmental responsibility.
As part of the ongoing Swachhata Campaign 6.0, a Rail Jan Samvaad (Passenger Outreach Programme) was organised at Rayagada, Balangir, Barpali and Titlagarh Railway Stations with enthusiastic public participation.
The programme gave passengers a platform to interact directly with railway officials and share their experiences, suggestions and views on station amenities, train cleanliness and service delivery. The feedback will help identify areas for improvement and enhance passenger satisfaction, reaffirming East Coast Railway’s commitment to cleanliness, improved passenger amenities and responsive services.
