Bhubaneswar: A total of 3205 rape cases were registered between July 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025, revealed Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the Odisha State Assembly today.
Chief Minister Majhi presented the data on crime against women in Odisha in response to a query by MLA Prasanna Acharya.
During the same period, 202 cases of attempt to commit rape, 9851 cases of molestation, and 1476 cases of sexual harassment were reported, according to the data given by CM Majhi.
The CM’s statement highlighted the disturbing trend of crimes against women, including 2310 cases of public disrobing, 152 cases of voyeurism, and 556 cases of stalking. Additionally, there were 4 cases of acid attacks on women, 129 cases of trafficking, and 796 cases of eve-teasing.
The data also revealed that 8863 cases of kidnapping/abduction of women, 277 dowry homicides, and 5861 cases of dowry torture were reported. Furthermore, 6773 cases of non-dowry torture and 49 dowry suicides were registered during the period.
