Bhubaneswar: Riding high on a dominant 101-run win in the series opener, Team India and South Africa departed Odisha on Wednesday to gear up for the second T20 International in Chandigarh.
The first T20I, held at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, saw India post a formidable total and then restrict South Africa to a modest score, securing a comfortable victory and taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
Following the match, players from both teams checked out of their luxury hotels in Bhubaneswar around noon and proceeded to Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) under tight security.
Both sides flew to Chandigarh ahead of Thursday’s second T20I, scheduled at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. Team India will look to build on their momentum and extend their series lead, while South Africa will aim for redemption after a heavy defeat.
With the series still wide open, all eyes will be on the second encounter to see whether India can consolidate their advantage or if South Africa will stage a comeback in New Chandigarh.
