Bhubaneswar: Odisha Congress leaders, including OPCC president Bhakta Charan Das, MLAs and senior party functionaries, will join the INDIA bloc’s protest march in New Delhi on Monday against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the alleged “vote chori” issue, senior Congress leader and former MLA Santosh Singh Saluja said on Sunday.
Briefing the media, Saluja said Congress leaders from Odisha would leave for the national capital on Sunday night and reach Delhi by Monday morning to participate in the demonstration.
He said the protest was being organised by the INDIA bloc under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi to raise concerns over alleged irregularities in the electoral process.
“The INDIA bloc has been protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi for the past three to four days against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the ‘vote chori’ issue,” Saluja said.
He added that Odisha Congress leaders, under the guidance of OPCC president Bhakta Charan Das, would participate in the protest along with party MLAs and senior leaders.
The INDIA bloc is scheduled to take out a protest march in New Delhi on Monday, October 12, to intensify its campaign over the alleged “vote chori” issue.
Congress leaders and representatives of other INDIA bloc constituents are expected to participate in the demonstration, along with supporters demanding accountability in the conduct of elections.
