Bhubaneswar: The damage caused by the recent violence in MV 26 in Malkangiri district is estimated to be around Rs 3.4 crore, Collector Somesh Upadhyay informed. However, this assessment does not include damage to houses, as a technical team is currently evaluating the extent of destruction.
Upadhyay assured that normalcy is gradually returning to the affected areas, with people starting to return to their homes in MV 26 villages. Relief efforts are underway, and essential services like electricity and water supply are being restored.
The District Collector also mentioned that no untoward incidents have been reported recently, and the situation is under control. The administration is working diligently to ensure the affected individuals receive necessary support and assistance.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo, who visited the violence-hit district to review the situation, has submitted a report to the Chief Minister today.
