Bhubaneswar: Elmentoz Research Pvt. Ltd., a biotechnology company specialising in precision animal health nutrition, has secured $4 million in seed funding from Indian and Norwegian investors.
The company will use the funds to establish India’s largest insect-based protein facility, capable of processing 2,000 MT of industrial byproducts monthly. The facility, set to open in January 2026, will support Elmentoz’s mission to develop sustainable feed solutions, reducing reliance on imports and antimicrobial resistance.
The funding will also enable Elmentoz to scale its product lines, ELGROW and ELTIDE, and advance antimicrobial peptide technology. Dr. Jayashankar Das, Founder and CEO, stated that the company’s research-driven approach aims to prioritise nutritional security and deliver safer, smarter feed solutions. Co-Founder Dr. Padmaja Mohanty emphasised the importance of sustainability in animal nutrition.
Elmentoz’s products, including ELGROW and ELTIDE, focus on improving gut health, feed conversion, and disease resilience, replacing antibiotic growth promoters. The company’s facility features advanced automation and cGMP manufacturing, with a team dedicated to sustainable solutions.
Investor Christen Hveem praised Elmentoz’s potential to transform the feed industry and shape sustainable food systems. Elmentoz aims to become a global leader in smart proteins and precision nutrition.
