Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions swept across Odisha on Sunday, with temperatures plunging below 10 degrees Celsius in several parts of the state, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported.
G. Udayagiri in Kandhamal district recorded the lowest temperature at 4.6°C. Semiliguda in Koraput district registered 5.1°C, while Phulbani and Daringbadi in Kandhamal recorded 5.8°C and 6°C, respectively.
The state capital, Bhubaneswar, and neighboring Cuttack recorded 14°C and 13.6°C, respectively.
The IMD has warned that cold wave conditions are expected to continue in parts of Odisha for the next week.
Dense fog is likely during early morning hours in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Kandhamal districts on Monday, while Kalahandi district may experience shallow to moderate fog.
Residents have been advised to take necessary precautions against the cold and reduced visibility on roads.
