Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for dense fog in several districts of Odisha on December 22 and 23, cautioning residents and commuters to remain alert during early morning hours.
According to the IMD’s mid-day weather bulletin, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, and Kandhamal on December 22. In addition, shallow to moderate fog is expected at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Angul, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Koraput on the same day.
The weather department has forecast similar conditions for December 23, with dense fog likely in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, and Kandhamal, and shallow to moderate fog in the other listed districts.
The IMD has advised residents to exercise caution while traveling during the early morning hours, as reduced visibility may disrupt road, rail, and air transport. Motorists are urged to drive slowly and use fog lights, while train and flight schedules may also be affected.
