Bhubaneswar: The General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR) conducted a detailed inspection on Saturday of the ongoing redevelopment works at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack Railway Stations and comprehensively reviewed the progress of infrastructure enhancement and passenger amenities at both locations.
During the inspection, the General Manager interacted with railway officials and emphasised the need to take all necessary safety precautions at work sites, ensuring that construction activities are carried out in a safe and systematic manner.
The redevelopment works aim to transform both stations into modern hubs with world-class passenger facilities. These efforts reflect East Coast Railway’s continued commitment to improving passenger convenience, safety, and the overall travel experience.
As part of the inspection, the General Manager examined the entry points, circulating areas, and passenger movement zones at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack Railway Stations, as well as the progress of the ongoing works.
The development of station entry points is designed to provide seamless access and improved traffic management, including designated pick-up and drop-off zones, parking spaces for ambulances and vehicles, wider approach roads, air concourses, foot overbridges, integrated passenger announcement systems, fire alarm and protection systems, food stalls, provisions for Divyangjan passengers, retiring rooms, integrated CCTV surveillance, and several other modern passenger amenities.
