Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has warned of strict action against anyone found filming social media reels inside Lok Seva Bhawan, the state Secretariat, underscoring security and decorum concerns at the key administrative complex.
Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Friday said that neither government employees nor visitors are permitted to record reels on the premises of Lok Seva Bhawan, describing it as the nerve centre of the state government. “There is no scope for recording reels at Lok Seva Bhawan,” the minister asserted.
His remarks come amid reports that some individuals, including a few employees, had allegedly shot reels within the Secretariat campus and uploaded them on social media platforms in recent days. While clarifying that he has not personally come across any such incident, Harichandan said the government views the matter seriously.
The minister stated that the Home Department, along with security personnel deployed at Lok Seva Bhawan, would take appropriate action against anyone found violating the directive. He added that authorities would soon frame a set of guidelines to prevent such incidents in future.
Emphasising preventive measures, Harichandan said security staff would also be instructed to create awareness among visitors regarding the prohibition on filming and reel-making within the Lok Seva Bhawan premises.
