Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi marked the 11th anniversary of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme, highlighting the importance of educated and empowered daughters in building a progressive India.

In a social media post, Majhi praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting and empowering girl children.

The BBBP scheme has made significant strides in improving the child sex ratio, increasing girls’ enrollment in schools, and promoting women’s empowerment.

Majhi highlighted the government’s efforts to ensure dignity, safety, and equal opportunities for girls.

“In Bharat’s living tradition, a daughter is revered as Maa Laxmi, the harbinger of prosperity, harmony, and wellbeing. Educated, empowered, and self-reliant daughters are the foundation of a confident and progressive India. Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the #BetiBachaoBetiPadhao initiative completes 11 impactful years today, reaffirming our commitment to protecting, nurturing, and empowering every girl child. I extend my heartfelt salutations to all mothers and daughters who continue to uphold our values and shape the nation’s future. By strengthening social consciousness and transforming mindsets, our daughters today are learning with pride, leading with confidence, and excelling across fields from economic growth to space science. The double-engine government remains steadfast in ensuring the dignity, safety, rights, and equal opportunities of every Laxmi in our society”, read CM’s post.
