Bhubaneswar: The former Secretary of Dahunda Service Co-operative Society in Balasore was arrested today by the Odisha Vigilance team for allegedly embezzling Rs 19,80,255 of government funds.
The accused, identified as Subal Kumar Sahu, who was already dismissed from service, is accused of manipulating official records to extend benefits to ineligible members under the Crop Insurance Scheme during the 2014-15 financial year.
A case has been registered against Sahu under Balasore Vigilance PS Case No 03/2026, U/s 13(2) r/w13(1)(a)PC (Amendment) Act, 2018. He will be presented before the court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore. The investigation is underway.
