Bhubaneswar: A high-level delegation from the 66th National Defence College (NDC) Course has arrived in Odisha for a five-day study tour titled “Understanding India & Introduction to Strategy”, scheduled from February 2 to February 6, 2026.
The delegation, led by Consultant Major General C.P. Sangra, AVSM, YSM (Retd), is visiting the state to gain first-hand insights into Odisha’s socio-economic development, tribal development initiatives, internal security framework, and strategic infrastructure. The delegation also includes five foreign nationals, reflecting the international composition of the NDC course.
On February 2 (Monday), the delegation called on Chief Secretary Anu Garg and briefed her on the objectives of their visit, which forms part of the 11-month training programme at the National Defence College, New Delhi.
As part of the tour, the delegation will visit key strategic, sports, and urban governance institutions, including INS Chilka, Kalinga Stadium, and the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited. The programme also includes exposure to Odisha’s cultural heritage, with visits to Raghurajpur Heritage Village and the Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves.
The study tour will culminate on February 5 with formal calls on the Chief Minister and the Governor of Odisha, marking the conclusion of the delegation’s official engagements in the state.
