Bhubaneswar: The Governor of Odisha, and Chancellor of Universities, Hari Babu Kambhampati has extended the term of Fakir Mohan University’s Vice-Chancellor by six months.
A notification from the Governor’s office stated that the term will be extended until a new Vice-Chancellor is appointed. The current Vice-Chancellor, Santosh Kumar Tripathy, had his term extended for another six months, following a previous extension.
“In exercise of powers conferred by Sub-section (6) of Section 6 of Odisha Universities Act, 1989, the Hon’ble Chancellor, has been pleased to extend the tenure of Prof. Santosh Kumar Tripathy, Vice-Chancellor, Fakir Mohan University, Balasore for a further period of six months with effect from 21.01.2026 or till joining of the new Vice-Chancellor in Fakir Mohan University, Balasore or until further orders, whichever is earlier”, read the notification issued from the office of the Chancellor.
