Bhadrak: In a joint operation, the Excise Department and police seized seven boxes containing 840 bottles of banned cough syrup from a medicine store in Basudevpur market. One person has been arrested in connection with the seizure.
According to sources, the medicine store was selling cough syrup illegally for a long time. Acting on a tip-off, the District Drugs Inspector, Basudebpur police, and Excise Department raided the store and seized the cough syrup.
The estimated value of the seized syrup is over Rs 1.5 lakh. The Excise Department has arrested an employee of the medicine store in connection with the seizure.
