Bhubaneswar: A major accident shook Bhubaneswar when a car rammed into the Shishu Bhavan overbridge barricade this morning, plunging off the flyover and narrowly missing houses in a nearby slum.
As per reports, the mishap took place when the car rammed into the overbridge barricade at high speed, broke through the barrier, fell off the flyover. It hit a tree mid-fall and finally came to rest on the roof of a nearby house. Miraculously, the driver survived the accident and was rescued from the wreckage. He sustained injuries but is reported to be safe. No other casualties were reported.
Vehicular movement was temporarily disrupted in the area. The accident fell under Capital Police Station’s jurisdiction. Upon being informed, police arrived promptly, launched an investigation to ascertain the reason behind the mishap.
The incident caused panic in the area, with locals breathing a sigh of relief that no one was hurt.
