Bhubaneswar: In a bid to prevent land scams and ensure transparency in buying and selling of land, the Odisha government has announced that all land pattas will now be equipped with QR codes, informed Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari today.
According to Pujari, the QR code will contain all relevant information about the land, making it difficult for fraudsters to manipulate data.
He said “The Record of Rights (RoR) will now feature a QR code, enabling instant access to land details and enhancing transparency in transactions. The QR code will provide access to accurate information, allowing authorities to track any attempts at tampering or forgery. If anyone tries to manipulate the data, the system will alert the Tahsildar and Revenue Inspector, ensuring swift action.
The new system is a joint effort between the central and state governments, and is expected to bring an end to land-related disputes and scams in the state.
Pujari further stated that a comprehensive database is being prepared, covering past land allotments by government departments, including current usage details, to boost land management and accountability.
