Jeypore (Koraput): In a shocking incident, a youth was allegedly murdered in Chandalguda village under Borigumma police station limits in Koraput district. The deceased has been identified as Rehman Khan, a resident of the village.
According to reports, Rehman, who was reportedly intoxicated, visited the betel shop of local resident Adarsh Bisoi on Friday night. An argument broke out between the two men for reasons that are yet to be ascertained.
During the altercation, Bisoi allegedly attacked Rehman with a cricket bat, leaving him critically injured. Rehman collapsed at the spot and later died.
Following the incident, Rehman’s family lodged a complaint with the Borigumma police. Acting swiftly, the police reached the location, seized the body, and detained the accused, Adarsh Bisoi.
A forensic team also visited the site to collect evidence and begin investigations. The body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem examination is completed.
Borigumma police said the motive behind the murder is still under investigation.
