Bhubaneswar: Tight security arrangements will be in place in the state capital as the Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) begins on Tuesday, with 35 platoons of police force set to be deployed in and around the Assembly premises.
Addressing the media on Monday, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissioner of Police Dr. Suresh Dev Datta Singh said elaborate preparations have been made to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the session. Ceremonial security rehearsals were carried out during the day as part of the preparedness drill.
According to the Commissioner, more than 100 officers will be stationed across the outer and inner perimeters of the Assembly. In addition to the regular force, two Special Tactical Units (STUs) and seven Quick Response Teams (QRTs) will be deployed to tackle any emergency situation.
“We have put in place a three-layer security arrangement. Adequate measures have been taken to manage any protest outside the Assembly premises,” Singh said.
