Bhubaneswar: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday declared the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results, with 12 candidates achieving a perfect 100 percentile. Among them, Bhavesh Patra from Odisha secured the sixth rank, highlighting the state’s strong performance in one of India’s most competitive engineering entrance examinations.
A total of 13,04,653 candidates appeared for the exam this year, while 13,55,293 students had registered for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.). The examination was conducted on 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28 January 2026 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, across 13 languages: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
The 12 toppers represented a diverse range of states, including Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Odisha, Haryana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Telangana. Among them, Bhavesh Patra from Odisha emerged as the sole candidate from the state to achieve a 100 percentile, ranking sixth overall. Other notable toppers included Shreyas Mishra (Delhi), Narendrababu Gari Mahith (Andhra Pradesh), Shubham Kumar (Bihar), Kabeer Chhillar (Rajasthan), and Chiranjib Kar (Rajasthan).

With the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results out, candidates are now preparing for JEE Advanced 2026, the next step toward admission into India’s premier engineering institutes.
