Cuttack: A devastating incident occurred on Thursday evening in Mahajanpur village under Jagatpur police station limits, where a firecracker suddenly exploded while being stored at a residence.
The blast caused severe injuries to two women and a 3-year-old girl who was sleeping nearby at the time. The victims were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack via a private ambulance and admitted to the casualty ward in critical condition.
Medical sources report that the young girl has been placed on a ventilator due to her grave injuries, while the two women are also undergoing intensive treatment for serious wounds sustained in the explosion.
