Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police’s ‘Operation Cyber Kavach’ is gaining momentum, with 118 arrests and 1456 mule bank accounts checked across the state. The operation, aimed at dismantling cyber crime networks, has registered 97 cyber cases, 6 cheque withdrawal cases, and 7 fake SIM PoS cases.
District-wise actions include:
Puri police checked 2 accounts, registering 1 case. Jharsuguda police checked 4 accounts, registering 1 case and arresting 3. Rourkela police checked 70 accounts, registering 10 cases and arresting 6. Sambalpur police checked 81 accounts, arresting 14 in 2 old cases. Kalahandi police checked 12 accounts, registering cases related to cheque withdrawal and fake SIM PoS.
The operation is being conducted under the direct supervision of District SPs and DCPs, with District Cyber Teams’ cooperation. DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania stated that the operation aims to destroy cyber criminals’ financial fabric and will be expanded to eliminate their transactions.
