Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has given in-principle approval for the construction of a multipurpose indoor stadium along with a 25-meter swimming pool at Udayabata in Kujang Block of Jagatsinghpur district.
The project aims to provide world-class sports infrastructure for athletes and sports enthusiasts in the region.
In an official communication, Dr. Swarupananda Sahu, Officer on Special Duty in the Sports and Youth Services Department, has asked District Collector J. Sonal to identify at least five acres of encroachment-free government land to facilitate the development of the facility. The initiative is expected to pave the way for a modern sports hub catering to both training and competitive events.
Paradip MLA and Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain had earlier proposed the establishment of the multipurpose indoor stadium in Kujang. The project is seen as a major step towards promoting sports and nurturing local talent in Odisha.
With these developments, Kujang Block is poised to emerge as a key destination for sporting events and training, attracting athletes from across the state.
