Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a man was arrested on Tuesday night for allegedly murdering his wife at their residence in Phuleswari Basti under Bharatpur police station here.
The deceased has been identified as Sabitri Mallick.
According to reports, a heated argument broke out between Sabitri and her husband, Purna Chandra Mallick, over an unknown issue. In the ensuing confrontation, Purna allegedly attacked and killed his wife.
Hearing her screams, locals alerted the police. Acting on the information, the police rushed to the spot, recovered Sabitri’s body, and sent it for postmortem examination. Purna Chandra Mallick has been taken into custody, and a detailed investigation into the incident is underway.
