Khordha: A minor was critically injured along with two others after country-made bombs were hurled at them by a man at Padanpur Chhak near Jatni in Khordha district on Friday night.
According to reports, the incident occurred when an argument broke out between the accused and the victims. The injured allegedly insulted the accused’s caste, enraging him, after which he threw two country-made bombs at them.
The critically injured minor was first admitted to Khordha District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, for specialised treatment. The other two victims sustained minor injuries and are undergoing treatment locally.
Following the explosion, locals staged a protest by blocking the Pipili-Khordha main road for nearly two hours, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. The Jatni police, upon receiving information, rushed to the spot, pacified the protesters, and restored normal traffic.
