Bhubaneswar: Odisha has adequate stocks of petrol and diesel and there is no shortage in the state, Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra said on Saturday. He appealed to the public not to panic or rely on misleading reports related to the Middle East conflict circulating on television and social media.
“There is enough petrol and diesel in the state. Please do not believe false information on TV channels or social media. Oil is arriving from Russia, and our supplies are adequate,” Patra said.
The minister also dismissed reports of long queues at petrol pumps, calling them untrue. He assured citizens that authorities are closely monitoring black market activities and taking necessary action.
“We are keeping a close watch on the distribution of petrol, diesel, and other daily necessities. Any irregularities will be addressed immediately. I request everyone to remain calm and trust only official sources,” Patra added.
He further emphasised that the state government is continuously monitoring stock levels and supply chains to ensure smooth availability. Citizens have been urged not to hoard petrol or diesel, as there is no reason for concern regarding shortages in Odisha.
