Bhubaneswar: A stunning life-size statue of President Droupadi Murmu, crafted entirely from chocolate, is set to be unveiled tomorrow on the occasion of Pakhala Divas—a day dedicated to celebrating Odisha’s iconic fermented rice dish and its cultural significance.
The impressive creation, weighing approximately 100 kg, has been meticulously sculpted over the last three days by 15 talented artists from the Chocolate Club at Bomikhal in Bhubaneswar. The team has been working tirelessly to capture the essence and dignity of Odisha’s pride, President Murmu, whose journey and dedication continue to inspire millions.
An artist involved in the project shared, “We have been working for the last three days. We have reached almost the final stage. The entire structure will be completed by the evening on Thursday. We are excited to sculpt the statue of Odisha’s pride President Droupadi Murmu, whose dedication has inspired many.”
Final touches are being applied today (Thursday), with the unveiling scheduled for tomorrow to coincide with Pakhala Divas celebrations. The edible artwork not only showcases culinary artistry but also pays tribute to the President’s humble roots and her representation of tribal and Odia pride on the national stage.
