Bhubaneswar: General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff, arrived in Bhubaneswar on Friday on an official visit to Odisha.
The Army Chief landed at the Biju Patnaik International Airport aboard a special aircraft of the Indian Air Force and proceeded under tight security to the 120 Battalion, where arrangements have been made for his overnight stay and an official dinner.
On Saturday, General Dwivedi is scheduled to travel to Puri, where he will offer prayers at the Jagannath Temple. He will subsequently fly to Gopalpur to visit the Army Air Defence College.
During his visit to the premier training institution, the Army Chief will review ongoing training arrangements and interact with serving officers as well as ex-servicemen. A live firing demonstration has also been scheduled at the Field Firing Range.
General Dwivedi is slated to conclude his Odisha visit and return to Delhi on March 29.
