Bhadrak: In a significant operation against illegal cattle smuggling, Bhadrak police conducted simultaneous raids at eight locations linked to a cattle smugglers early on Tuesday.
According to reports, the raids were carried out at eight locations across the district — including two places in the Santhia area, one each in Nangamahala and Alalpur, and three locations in Gujidarada.
A large police force was deployed for the operation, including six platoons of armed personnel, 2 DSPs, 10 Inspectors, 10 Sub-Inspectors, and staff from various police stations. During the raid in Alalpur, one alleged cattle member jumped from his house and managed to escape.
According to Bhadrak SP Manoj Raut, police have so far recovered Rs 20 lakh in cash and seized a large number of firearms and lethal weapons from multiple locations. Five cattle smugglers have been detained, while one has fled from the spot. Police operation is still underway.
SP further stated that a detailed update on the total seized cash, weapons, and other properties will be provided shortly.
