Bhubaneswar: : In view of the prevailing severe heat wave conditions, the Balangir district administration has decided to extend the holiday for all schools, colleges, and Anganwadi centres by an additional four days.
According to fresh instructions issued by the district administration, the extended holiday will be observed from 22nd April to 25th April. While the physical classes remain suspended during this period, the administration has directed all educational institutions to continue academic activities through online mode so that the syllabus can be completed on time. Teachers and lecturers have been asked to report to their respective schools and colleges and conduct online classes for students.
In the case of Anganwadi centres, the district administration has ordered the suspension of cooked food (mid-day meal) services during the extended holiday period. Instead, arrangements have been made to deliver dry rations directly to the homes of the beneficiary children.
However, the administration has clarified that any examinations already scheduled during this period will be conducted as per the pre-decided schedule without any change. This decision reflects the district administration’s balanced approach — prioritizing the health and safety of students and children amid the intense heat while ensuring that their education does not suffer.
