Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to amend the Odisha Right to Public Services Rules, 2012, to introduce an Auto-Appeal System for cases where service delivery timelines are breached.
Earlier, the rules did not have any provision for an automatic appeal mechanism. With the amendment, a new provision under Section-14 of the Odisha Right to Public Services Act, 2012, will be inserted as sub-rule 7 of Rule 10 in the Odisha Right to Public Services Rules, 2012.
The change will enable the Appellate or Revisional Authority to automatically receive appeals and revisions of applications submitted online for services notified under the Act, if the prescribed time limit for delivery is violated.
Officials said the Auto-Appeal System is aimed at strengthening accountability and ensuring timely delivery of public services to citizens.
