Bhubaneswar: In a major anti-narcotics operation, R. Udayagiri police in Gajapati district recovered 413 kg of ganja from remote hilltop areas and underground dumps in Manikpur and Dalimbapur villages on Sunday.
Acting on credible intelligence inputs, the raid was conducted under the leadership of R. Udayagiri SDPO Rakesh Sahoo. Police said the contraband was carefully concealed in difficult-to-access terrain, including hilltops and underground pits, with the intention of future transportation and distribution.
The operation marks a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to curb illegal cannabis cultivation and trafficking in the region.
Police have intensified searches in nearby areas to identify and apprehend those involved in the racket.
Further investigation is underway to trace the network behind the illegal consignment.
