Bhubaneswar: The second day of the Junior and Senior Artistic Gymnastics National Championship 2026–27 witnessed intense competition and standout performances in the Senior Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) category, reflecting the growing depth of talent in Indian gymnastics.
Representing Odisha, Tapan Mohanty emerged as the All-Around Champion in the Senior MAG category with an impressive score of 73.433. He delivered a consistent and technically refined performance across all apparatus, securing a significant win for the host state and further strengthening Odisha’s presence in the sport.
Yogeshwar Singh of Haryana secured second place with a score of 72.667, while Shayan Sharma finished third with 71.268, completing a closely contested podium finish.
The championship was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including Sudhir Mital, President of the Gymnastics Federation of India, and Rajeev Mehta, Secretary General of the Fencing Association of India. Their presence added prestige to the event and encouraged the participating athletes.
In another notable achievement for the host state, Odisha also qualified for the Senior MAG Team Championship final, reinforcing its strong overall performance at the national level.
The second day of the championship highlighted elite-level performances, determination, and sporting excellence, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion in the upcoming events.
