Nayagarh: More than 20 passengers injured after a bus they were travelling in overturned on Nayagarh-Khandapada Road on Tuesday.
According to reports, the bus, named ‘Baby’, was carrying over 50 passengers from Rakma to Nayagarh. The bus lost balance, veered off the road, and overturned near Khandapada. As a result of the accident, more than 20 passengers sustained injuries.
Local residents and police immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the injured passengers. The injured passengers are undergoing treatment at a nearby medical facility.
Till the last report came in, passengers with minor injuries received first aid and were discharged after initial treatment, while others are still undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Further details regarding the exact cause of the accident and the condition of the injured are awaited. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
