CM Majhi Flags Lack Of Sensitivity, Orders RDC Inquiry Into Keonjhar Bank Delay Case

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Tuesday ordered an inquiry by Northern Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) into the incident in Keonjhar district where a man allegedly did not receive his money from a bank in time, directing officials to submit a detailed report at the earliest.

Expressing deep concern over the matter involving Jitu Munda in Patana area of the district, the Chief Minister said such incidents reflect a lack of sensitivity towards common citizens and must not recur.

Following his intervention, the issue was resolved promptly. The district administration extended financial assistance of ₹30,000 to the individual from the Red Cross fund. Authorities also facilitated the immediate issuance of the death certificate and legal heir certificate, enabling the release of the due amount from the bank.

The Chief Minister, however, took serious note of the circumstances leading to the delay and directed that accountability be fixed through a comprehensive RDC probe. He emphasised that administrative systems must remain responsive and humane while dealing with public grievances.

Officials have been instructed to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure corrective measures are put in place to prevent similar incidents in future.

It is reported that the Northern RDC will begin its investigation from tomorrow.
