Jaipur: In a significant crackdown on narcotics networks, the Pratapgarh Police, under ‘Operation Trinetra’, have initiated action to freeze assets worth approximately Rs 2.50 crore belonging to a notorious drug trafficker.

The move marks a strong shift towards targeting the financial backbone of organised drug crime. Acting under the direction of Superintendent of Police B. Aditya, the Arnod Police Station prepared and forwarded a proposal under Section 68F(1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act to the competent authority in New Delhi.

The proposal has been approved, and the process to freeze the identified assets has been set in motion. The action has been taken against Jamshed Khan, alias ‘Seth Lala’, a resident of Devaldi village under Arnod Police Station limits.

According to police officials, the accused has been involved in narcotics trafficking for a prolonged period and has amassed significant wealth through illegal activities. Investigations revealed that Khan invested proceeds from drug trafficking in constructing a lavish house in Devaldi, currently valued at around Rs 2.50 crore.

Officials noted that he has no verifiable legal source of income or ancestral property, yet has accumulated assets worth crores within a short span.

The case is linked to a major seizure carried out on March 30, 2026, by Piploda Police in Ratlam district, Madhya Pradesh.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided a poultry farm in Borkheda and seized 200 grams of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine drugs, 900 grams of precursor chemical powder, 140.48 kilograms of chemical-filled containers, 35.6 kilograms of hydrochloric acid, and equipment used for manufacturing synthetic drugs.

Four individuals, including Jamshed Khan, were arrested during the operation. Further investigation by Pratapgarh Police revealed that the accused was actively involved in trafficking substances such as Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, brown sugar, and doda chura.

As many as eight criminal cases have been registered against him across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh, and he remains wanted in several cases.

Following approval of the proposal, the police have affixed a freezing notice on the identified property and informed the concerned departments for further legal action.

Superintendent of Police B. Aditya emphasised that the police will not limit action to arrests alone but will continue to dismantle the economic networks of drug traffickers, stating that this sends a clear message that illegal assets will not be allowed to remain secure.
