Bhubaneswar: The newly renovated conference hall of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department was inaugurated on Monday at Lok Seva Bhawan by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by traditional rituals held during the auspicious morning hours. Flowers blessed as Karapallava from Jagannath Temple were brought as a symbol of divine blessings for the occasion.
Speaking after inaugurating the facility, Pujari expressed satisfaction over the completion of the renovation and described it as symbolising a “Nabakalebara” or a renewed embodiment of the department, reflecting its evolving role and responsibilities.
Additional Chief Secretary of the department, Dr Arabinda Padhee, said the modernised conference hall represents the department’s reform-oriented approach and will significantly enhance administrative efficiency and functional capacity.
The first official meeting in the revamped hall featured a presentation highlighting the department’s achievements, transparency initiatives, and future roadmap. Key departmental issues were also discussed, with officials deliberating on various matters under the guidance of the Minister.
Officials of the Works Department were acknowledged for completing the renovation work. Senior officers of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department were present at the event.
