Bhubaneswar: The High Commissioner of Canada to India, Christopher Cooter, paid a courtesy visit to Leader of Opposition in Odisha and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik at the latter’s residence in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
During the meeting, the Canadian delegation reportedly held discussions on various issues related to Odisha, with a focus on avenues for cooperation in trade, investment, and economic development in the state.
Sources said the discussions also explored the potential role Canada could play in supporting Odisha’s industrial growth and strengthening bilateral engagement in key sectors.
The meeting assumes significance amid Odisha’s continued efforts to attract foreign investment and expand international partnerships across sectors such as infrastructure, industry, education, and technology.
